In Muro’s fertile fields, water is tantamount to life. Anyone who has a well has a genuine treasure. They can water the good plants that feed us, making them proudly grow. The local peasant farmers take great care of the wells with their underground waters. Once, however, long ago, a big well on a property in the municipality that was known for its copious waters suddenly dried up for no known reason. Where once crystal-clear water could be drawn, now there were just hot ashes and a stench of sulphur. A dragon had transformed the very depths of the well into its lair! The beast came out at night, causing chaos among the livestock and wolfing down everything it could find in its insatiable hunger. Wherever it went, it left a trail of scorched grass behind it which would never grow back...
