A place of legend!

Ses Bruixes peak is the lowest of the three peaks that form the Galdent mountain range in Llucmajor. According to legend, long ago, a group of witches lived in one of the caves. They often got up to mischief, doing evil deeds to annoy the people of Algaida and Llucmajor. King James decided to put a stop to the situation. He went there, accompanied by two priests and an altar boy, and they erected a big cross on the top to expel the evil witches. However, the altar boy was so terrified that he refused to climb up to the peak and he stayed on a hilltop beside it. Since then it has been known as S’Escolà peak.
