El Call is the name by which the Jewish quarter is known. Palma had a strong Jewish presence, with most of the Jewish population living in one of two districts: Call Menor and Call Major. Call Major (the larger quarter) was located in the southeast of the city between the 13th and 15th centuries, with two synagogues in it.
