This fort was built between the late 19th century and early 20th century as part of a network of defences around the bay of Palma, together with Sant Carles and Portixol fortifications, En Pau tower in Coll d’en Rabassa and Cap Blanc and Cap Enderrocat towers in Llucmajor.
