A place of legend!

Santa Clara is one of the oldest convents in Palma. According to legend, a noble Majorcan lady left a written request to be buried in Santa Clara convent church when she died, with a highly prized ring on her ring finger. When she died, her instructions were followed. Before she was buried, however, one of the men keeping watch over her corpse tried to steal the ring when no one was looking. It was very tight and he had problems pulling it off so it occurred to him to bite her finger off and later remove the ring... That’s just what he did. The moment he bit her finger, though, the corpse came back to life, giving a big cry of pain. The thief fell dead on the spot, so great was the fright he received!
